Oscar J.W. Melendez, MPA, ATC, LAT joined the Brooklyn Athletics staff as full-time head athletic trainer in the fall of 2010.
Melendez previously served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer at Long Island University - C.W. Post from 2007 to 2010, caring for the nationally ranked Division II women's lacrosse team as well as their football, men's soccer, & cross country teams. While at C.W. Post, Melendez received his Masters of Public Administration in Health Care Administration.
Melendez received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training, cum laude, from the University of Florida in 2007. As an undergrad with the Athletic Training Edcuation Program, he assisted with the Florida Gators' Division I intercollegiate teams from 2003-2007.
Melendez brings additional experience with collegiate football, physical therapy clinics and high school athletic training programs.
A native of Long Island, Melendez is a current member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, New York State Athletic Trainer's Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, & College Athletic Trainers’ Society.
