Coach Rizzo enters his seventh season as an assistant coach for the Bears in the 2018-19 season.
Since joining the sidelines in 2012, the Bears have compiled a 49-33 mark and captured the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles and received United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship berths in two of the past three seasons.
The Brooklyn native got his start in coaching at the high school level as he was an assistant on the freshman boys basketball team at Bishop Ford High School beginning in 2004 and helped guide the team to its first City Championship in 20 years.
In 2007-08, Rizzo was promoted to assistant coach for the boys varsity team at Bishop Ford and was part of the staff that helped lead them to the first city/state championship in Bishop Ford history.
After achieving tremendous success with the boys varsity at Bishop Ford, Rizzo moved on to the girls varsity in 2010-11 and had success with them as well.
Under the tutelage of Rizzo, several of his former players are now playing at the Division I and Division II level throughout the country.
Rizzo graduated from St. Edmund Prep in 2002 and received a communications degree from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 2006.
